چکیده

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is a multiple access technique based on spread spectrum methods. In a downlink signal processing, only the code of the mobile phone user is known, while the codes of the interfering users are unknown. In addition, the number of sources (users and paths) is usually larger than the code length. In this case, linear methods such as matched lter fail to estimate the parameters. Blind source separation or independent component analysis is an approach ooering the solution to this problem. In this work, we introduce blind source separation methods for estimating the symbols in AWGN channel. The performance of the methods are based on the facts that the symbols have nite alphabet and/or are non-Gaussian. We present an algorithm which can estimate the parameters in oversaturated system, i.e. when the number of binary signals can be larger than the code length. Simulations show that one can estimate the symbols without any knowledge of the chip sequences.

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Performance Comparisions of ICA Algorithms to DS-CDMA Detection

Commercial cellular networks, like the systems based on DS-CDMA, face many types of interferences such as multi-user interference inside each sector in a cell to interoperate interference. Independent Component Analysis (ICA) has been used as an advanced preprocessing tool for blind suppression of interfering signals in DS-CDMA communication systems. The role of ICA is to provide an interferenc...

Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Blind Symbol Learning Algorithms for CDMA System

Independent Component Analysis (ICA) is a useful extension of standard Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The ICA model is utilized mainly in blind separation of unknown source signals from their linear mixtures. In some applications, the mixture coeecients are totally unknown, while some knowledge about temporal model exists. CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is an example of such an appli...
